I don't know if anyone of you have heard this, but it's a little reprise of "Be Prepared" that got cut from the final movie. It was supposed to be done a while after Scar took over and the lionesses started turning on him, so he brought in the Hyenas. It was cut in favour of Scar brining in the Hyena straight away. It's a shame because this would have been really awesome: |

Damn that's so awesome. I'm surprised I didn't know about that, I'm a huge Disney geek, and TLK is one of my favorite movies of all time. This would have fitted very well in the movie, and I wish they would at least incorporate it on the musical. |

Plebeian. That would be a good and short way to explore how things were during Scar's reign. Plus the music is fantastic. Edited by -Freeman, May 11 2013, 08:05 PM.

I don't know that it really fits in with the rest of the movie, so I see why they cut it. But it's still interesting nonetheless. |

I feel Zazou has too much sass in this scene. Otherwise, I love this song, and this movie. |

I thought so too, until you remember that this is before Scar has the Hyenas in to back him up. It works pretty similar to the way that Zazu acted towards Scar throughout the movie. I think the scene with Nala might have been right to cut, or at least edited similar to a way it is in the stage production. I really wish they'd have kept the song though, they could have had Scar sing it when the Hyenas come in to pride rock. Would have been awesome. |

Of course Zazu is supposed to be sassy towards Scar, but I feel he talks a bit too much in this scene. He has to remember who Scar is, and he knows. He knows. |

All Zazu knows is that Scar is the black Here is a montage of the song, with original scenes of the movie. |

Implied sexual dominance was probably a good shout to remove from a Disney film, and the ignorant, haughty way Scar acts kind of goes against his character imo - he seems arrogant and prideful enough that he doesn't want to be king just for the sake of it, but because he thought he would be better at it than Mufasa was - and when it becomes clear he wasn't, he bans Mufasa's very name out of anger. Acting like he doesn't give a s*** about ruling goes against the way I've always seen the character. Be Prepared reprise was awesome though, I'd have loved to have seen a fully animated and sound-engineered version of that. |

Yeah the Madness of King Scar/Pass at Nala is a little dark. It worked in the Broadway version, but I see why it was cut from the film. That and it spoiled Grown Up Nala's appearance. The Reprise of Be Prepared though, that's badass as all Hell. Certainly better than that absolute rubbish that comprised "The Morning Report" or whatever stupid song they dubbed over the pouncing lesson with in the Blu-Ray Release. |

Well they kept Hellfire in Hunch Back of Notre Dame But yeah I agree about the Nala scene, it's sort of OOC for Scar as well. But the song would have been far more interesting.

Hunchback of Notre Dame is an incredibly underrated Disney film, as is Frollo as a Disney villain. HoND just has a sadistic realism that the rest of the Disney Films seemed to miss entirely, and that's what makes it so good. Also Kathy Zelinski did an unbelievable job at animating Frollo throughout the entire movie, especially during the Hellfire scene. Hellfire is also my favorite song from a Disney movie, and it was that alone that almost made Hunchback of Notre Dame get a PG rating. I didn't know about that Lion King scene, and I'm glad it was kept out. It doesn't fit well into the rest of the film, and this is usually the reason why scenes get cut. Also there's the fact that we find Scar's mate Zira in the following film (Simba's Pride). Story behind that was that Kovu (Zira's youngest son) was originally supposed to be Scar's son, but that would've made him and Simba's daughter second cousins, and Kovu was her love interest.
